Vampire Academy

I haven't started a new book yet, still rereading the Lux series, I have about 5 chapters left.
Even though I haven't started anything yet, I'll talk to you about Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.
I must begin by saying that Vampire Academy (VA) is my favorite series of all time - love it more than Harry Potter, and I love HP,  people who know me can attest to that.
I plan to do a talk about each book of the series, because I already know them by heart and I love each and every one.
I refuse to  believe that there are people out there who have not yet read VA, so I intend to talk about this book with spoilers and all :D.
If you are one of the unfortunate, that has not yet read the series DO NOT READ THIS POST, GO READ THE BOOK.
That being said, let's get to the fun part, and talk about VA.
Hmm ..... VA starts of a little odd, for me, with Rose dreaming Lisa's dream, but it picks up from there.
By the time we meet Dimitri, it's impossible to let the book down.
Richelle Mead takes us in a world full of vampires. Basing her novels on a Romanian myth, about three types of vampires, the Moroi, the Strigoi and the Dhampires.
The Moroi are living vampires that need blood to survive, but do not kill to obtain it. They can use magic and are able to control the elements - earth,  water,  air, fire and an other element that has been long forgotten .... spirit.
The Strigoi are dead vampires that kill to survive,  and for them the Moroi are especially tasty. The Strigoi are made not born. They can be made by choice or by force.  A Moroi can choose to become a Strigoi by willingly killing there victim while feeding. Also any Moroi, Dhampire or human can be made a  Strigoi by force, this happens when a other strigoi feeds on a victim to the point of death and then feeds them back his own blood. Strigoi are vicious and cruel,  they poses immortality and incredible straight,  becoming more and more powerful as they age and as they consume more Moroi blood.
Last but not least the Dhampires are the half vampires, children of Moroi and humans or Moroi and other Dhampires.  They can not have children of there own, being able to reproduce only with the Moroi. They are trained bodyguards for the Moroi,  seeing as their species are so closely linked.

The book follows the life of teenage Dhampire girl Rosemarie Hathaway and her best friend Moroi princess and last of her name Vasilisa Dragomir.

Runaways from the people who raised them, the two girls live on a college campus trying to get past there high school graduation.

They are found and brought back to the Academy by Russian dhampire god Dimitri Belikov.

Back with the people who raised them the girls get in all kinds of trouble.  Fighting,  loving and deceiving to get what they want.

Rose of course, falls in love with Dimka, the Russian god and Lisa with the misfit with strigoi parents,  baited by everyone,  Christian Ozara.

It is a story about true friendship and love,  and the things that those two kind of feeling make us do.

Read the full series and you won't regret it,  I promise.
